Scarlett looks in London as Lindsay moves out in LA

Could Scarlett Johansson be the latest A-lister to buy a London property? The 27-year-old is becoming quite an Anglophile after shooting her latest film, Under the Skin, in the UK and has already visited a London estate agent. The LA home that she shared with ex-husband Ryan Reynolds is on the market for £2.3 million.

Meanwhile Mean Girls actress Lindsay Lohan must be keen to end her rental contract on her LA home as she has tweeted about the California pad that she has lived in for the past year: “Anyone looking in Venice [Beach] should see it ASAP because offers are coming in.”

She was said to be paying £4,500 a month for the three-bedroom beach house. A paparazzi favourite, the troubled 25-year-old has moved out after a stranger scared her by knocking on her door, demanding to see her.

Her temporary base is Hollywood’s Château Marmont Hotel while an estate agent helps her hunt for a new place - this time with superhot security.

Pixie Geldof, Alexa Chung and Kelly Osbourne are so on trend in Hackney

Pixie Geldof was recently spotted looking for a new home with best friend, Radio 1 presenter Nick Grimshaw. The model and musician is even on trend with her living plans. She is keen to snap up a house in super-hip Dalston. It’s where her celebrity mates, including Kelly Osbourne and Alexa Chung, like to party. And the area is home to her favourite hair salon — Bleach.

I may have found her just the place. Unique Properties is selling a Georgian artist’s studio at Sutton Place, Hackney, in a conservation area that includes the heritage sites of Sutton House and St John-at-Hackney. The five-bedroom gem, at almost £1.3 million would make the perfect creative hub for Pixie and her pals. It would also make for a very quirky party pad.

Profumo loved his home. Well, you would, wouldn't you?

This Grade I-listed property at prestigious Chester Terrace overlooking Regent’s Park, was once the home of shamed politician John Profumo, who lived in the splendid stucco townhouse during his much-publicised affair with model Christine Keeler in the Sixties.

The scandal forced his resignation as secretary of state for war and damaged the reputation of Harold Macmillan’s government.

Designed by John Nash, the architect responsible for much of Regency London, the elegant, four-bedroom house now has a cinema room, wine cellar and enchanting garden. If only walls could talk... Call Aston Chase (020 7724 4724) if you have £10.95 million.
