Bicycle Mews is a shared-ownership scheme of 44 homes at Clapham Manor Street, right next to a new community leisure centre which will have a six-lane swimming pool, a gym, dance studios and a four-court sports hall.

One-bedroom apartments in a modern five-storey block cost from £250,000 (the minimum share is 25 per cent), available through Notting Hill Housing. A show flat will be open for viewing from March 26, 2011. Call 020 8357 4444, or email sales@nhhg.org.uk.

Hundreds more affordable new homes - a mix of private, shared-ownership and rented accommodation - are becoming available at 150-acre Clapham Park, a former London County Council estate built in the Twenties.

The estate had a bad reputation for social problems but in 2005 ownership was transferred to a community-led housing association. Regeneration is now sweeping away the old blocks.

The first tranche of 50 private homes has been released at Boreal Gardens. Apartments cost from £245,000, and three-bedroom townhouses from £495,000. Call Savills on 020 3320 8224.

Avenues and streets surrounding the estate were originally laid out by Thomas Cubitt, the Belgravia developer, and the new homes border fashionable Abbeville Village.

A range of properties from studios to modern townhouses is for sale at the former Freemans catalogue printworks in Clapham Road.

This new 170-home complex is next to a Georgian conservation area and has a new public square. Prices start at £250,000 (townhouses from £725,000). For information, call Galliard Homes on 020 7620 1500, or visit claphamroad.com.
