Developers are at last catching up with the rest of Europe and installing grass roofs, now called Living Roofs.

A specially designed green (usually sedum and wildflowers) roof can be used to collect rainwater, slow-down storm water, reduce global warming (by creating oxygen) and support insects and birds.

Developer Thornsett Group is doing this at Charterhouse Square in Clerkenwell.
