The Duchess of Cambridge knows a thing or two about subtle sartorial messaging.

Indeed, to present the Pride of Britain award to NHS workers last week, the mother-of-three sported a patriotic cobalt blue blouse by Lisou London.

The Betty Blue blouse (£250, buy now) is not only in keeping with the colours of the health service, but it’s also printed with rainbows, a symbol that became synonymous with support for the NHS during lockdown.

Lisou London is the brainchild of designer and former stylist Rene Macdonald, who spotted a gap in the market for beautifully crafted silk pieces.

Having grown up in Tanzania, it was important for Macdonald to use her brand as a vessel for positive global change. Lisou London donates the proceeds from one piece per collection to  youth services in Africa  supporting those with medical and educational needs, and it also runs a London initiative with schools to nurture creative arts in their local community.

Kate paired her Lisou blouse with her trusty Smythe two-piece navy suit (£595, buy now) and her gold Alia earrings by Spells of Love (£62, buy now.)
