This is the 40th anniversary of the Mr Men and Little Miss books series. Now the home where they were created is for sale. Minka House in Surrey was built in 1956 for Roger Hargreaves, the author of the books, and his wife Christine.
Hargreaves began the series with Mr Tickle in 1971. Today it is estimated that one of his bite-sized books sells every 27 seconds.
The place the colourful characters came to life is priced at £3.65 million with Hamptons International. It has six bedrooms and makes the most of its magnificent setting beside the Thames with a 190ft mooring. The new owner will be Little Miss Lucky.
