Last week, Kanye West revealed that his hotly anticipated 10th studio album DONDA was set to be released this Friday, July 24.

As midnight passed in both London and New York, however, the album is still yet to materialise.

It's led many fans to wonder whether the album will appear today at all, especially as his previous project, Jesus Is King, was delayed many times over.

Kanye devotees can still hope, though. Here, we round up everything we know about the album so far.

When is Kanye West’s new album out?

West had originally announced DONDA with a release date of Friday, June 24, but with no sign of the album yet, this has now been thrown into doubt.

What does the name Donda mean?

The album’s moniker is a tribute to West’s late mother Donda, who died following complications from surgery in 2007.

Donda has been a huge influence on West’s life and music, with West previously explaining during an interview with David Letterman that he can still feel her presence.

“She’s here with us, and she’s guiding us,” he said in 2019.

West previously leaked a track from upcoming album DONDA on what would have been his late mother’s birthday.

Also titled Donda, the track featured West’s mother reciting the lyrics to KRS-One's Sound of Da Police over gospel vocals. After a minute-and-a-half, West speaks directly to his mother, rapping: “Mama I need you to tuck me in/I done made some mistakes and they rubbed it in/I know you and grandma had enough of them/Why I gotta be so stubborn then.”
