£3,500 per month: a five-bedroom house in Hambledon Place with landscaped gardens and a bathroom with a sauna
Like the house sales market, the rental market is dominated by families looking for houses to rent near the schools. Most landlords are accidental with families posted abroad hanging on to their homes while they are away. Harvey & Wheeler (020 8693 4321) is renting a four-bedroom house in Turney Road for £3,300 a month; Hamptons (020 7717 5297) has a five-bedroom house in Hambledon Place, the Barratt estate where Margaret Thatcher bought a house, for £4,750 a month. Flats in the Village are not common but Pedder (020 8299 0922) has a two-bedroom flat above a shop for £1,550 a month.
