Renting guide: Catford

Catford in south-east London has plenty of Victorian and Edwardian flat conversions to rent and large houses in tree-lined streets.

Catford has plenty of Victorian flat conversions. Rents for one-bedroom flats range from £775 a month to £975 a month.  Estate agent Crown (020 8698 6600) has a one-bedroom flat in Bargery Road in the Culverley Green area for £775 a month, while Foxtons has a one-bedroom flat with a large communal garden in Brownhill Road for £975 a month. Two-bedroom flats range from £850 a month to £1,245 a month.  

Crown has one in Cavendish Court, Bromley Road, for £850 a month and Acorn (020 8333 4488) has a two-bedroom flat in a new development in Culverley Road for £1,245 a month. There is a limited range of houses to rent in Catford.

Three-bedroom houses range from £1,000 to £1,600 a month. Crown (020 8698 6600) has a flat-fronted cottage with three bedrooms in Sandhurst Road on the Corbett estate for £1,000 a month. Acorn has a three-bedroom house on the estate in Glenfarg Road for £1,600 a month.

For buy-to-let investors the rental yield on flats is around five per cent and on houses around four per cent.
