Get a 'monkey' - £500 off your East End rent - at Stratford's East Village

London’s first Olympic legacy village is offering 10 new tenants the chance to win £500 off a month's rent to celebrate the return of the Olympic gorilla to Stratford's East Village.
London’s first Olympic legacy village, Stratford's East Village, is offering 10 new tenants the chance to win £500 - known as a 'monkey' in London slang - off one month's rent.

The competition is celebrating the return of the silverback gorilla statue, a favourite selfie-sidekick of Olympians including Tom Daley, Chris Mears and Maria Sharapova, to the former Athlete's Village.

Two-bedroom homes start from £310 a week in London's newest village, located in 285 hectares of parkland, waterways, and nature trails, and where plans are underway for 30 shops, restaurants, cafes and bars.

From £310 a week: rental flats and townhouses are available to rent at East Village

Derek Gorman, Chief Executive of rental management company Get Living London said: “The gorilla was such a huge part of the Athletes' Village during London 2012, we wanted to bring him back in style. Only an East End development could offer 'a monkey' off the rent and when the news spreads on the 'ape' vine we hope to see a troop of potential renters swinging on down to East Village.”

The intiative is only being offered to new tenants. To enter applicants should say ‘Monkey Off’ to the property consultant when booking a viewing before 7pm on August 31, 2014. The 10 winners will be randomly selected. For more details and full terms and condtions, visit
