Open House London 2015: step inside 10 Downing Street, BT Tower and London's skinniest home

London's Open House Weekend is so popular you have to take part in a ballot to be granted access to the top sites — 10 Downing Street, BT Tower and the London Eye. But more than 700 other buildings are included in this year’s architecture-fest on the weekend of September 19 and 20.

While many people will head to City landmarks such as the Gherkin, and ballot winners will get a glimpse inside the PM’s official residence, some of the capital’s most fascinating private homes will also be on view.

They include a “gingerbread” house in Hackney and a super-eco family home in west London that promises to be a tight squeeze - The Gap House is only 8ft wide.
