Florida’s west coast is less crowded than the east coast and provides a lifestyle based around warm seas, long sandy beaches and golf courses.

Naples, south of Tampa, is a sophisticated and relatively understated resort despite being home to more Fortune 500 CEOs per capita than anywhere in America outside of New York while the theme parks of Orlando are within two hours of Tampa airport.

Property prices throughout Florida fell heavily from their 2007 highs but have begun to climb with prices in Sarasota up 24 per cent in the past year.
