The London Festival of Architecture, the biggest UK event of its kind, has launched a citywide competition to find the projects that have done most to improve the capital’s local streets and outdoor spaces.
Despite being London’s most significant public spaces, the capital’s streets can often appear cluttered and neglected, say organisers. Love Your Street will urge Londoners to find the best examples of spaces improved by local communities or design teams. The competition is open to all and projects can be already completed or still in the pipeline.
Entries will be displayed as part of a Love Your Street exhibition during the festival, from June 19 to July 4, 2010. A leading panel of experts will judge the entries and the winner will be showcased at the festival and given a £500 cash prize.
Email your project nomination to firstname.lastname@example.org by 9am, June 4, 2010. Please include the status of the project, up to three photos, 100 words about the scheme, its location, postcode and cost, plus your own details.
