London Dock brings new homes to a rejuvenated quarter of Wapping

Wapping's commercial zone is being transformed, with the addition of 1,800 homes.
The launch of London Dock brings 1,800 new homes to a tract of Wapping that has been a commercial zone for generations.

Its heyday was 100 years ago, when Port of London docks were mighty. Now this once closed-off district is being opened up with redevelopment of a 15-acre fenced compound next to the Georgian enclave of St Katharine Docks.

The rejuvenated quarter will have two new civic squares, a waterside promenade, shops and market gardens. About half the land will be open space, ringed by sleek apartment blocks.

Admiral's Wharf, the first phase, has 79 flats and hotel-style residents' facilities including 24-hour concierge, valet parking, spa, gym, squash court and virtual golf suite. Prices from £689,950. Conversion of a listed warehouse is coming later. Call St George on 020 7971 7880.
