Hampstead residents could soon have a Britpop bad boy running their local pub. Liam Gallagher, who recently moved into a north-west London house with his former assistant Debbie Gwyther, has his sights on The Rosslyn Arms.
The ex-Oasis frontman now lead singer and founder of rock band Beady Eye, is rumoured to have ambitions to become a landlord and give the pub on Rosslyn Hill a revamp.
But he will have to convince Robert Newmark, founder of Beach Blanket Babylon clubs in Notting Hill and Shoreditch, to sell. Newmark bought the 2,800sq ft Rosslyn Arms last year and is said to have plans to turn it into a glamorous cocktail bar. How about naming it Champagne Supernova?
