Sevilla won the Europa League for the sixth time on Friday night following a five-goal thriller against Inter Milan.

Luuk de Jong netted a double for the LaLiga outfit after Romelu Lukaku's early penalty, but Diego Godin quickly had Antonio Conte's side back on level terms.

An engrossing contest was settled 16 minutes from time when Diego Carlos' bicycle kick was turned into his own net by Lukaku.

Prediction: Sevilla 1-2 Inter Milan

This is a really difficult contest to predict, with both sides full of confidence and in great form.

Sevilla have triumphed in eight of their last nine matches, while Inter have won five straight in European competition for the first time in a decade.

A thrilling final should await and it would not be a surprise to see this tie progress through to extra-time and penalties.

However, Inter boasting two of the continent's most in-form strikers in Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku, plus their miserly defensive record - one goal conceded in seven games - could well give them the edge.

Lukaku has now scored in 10 successive Europa League outings and will be eager to extend that record further when it matters most.

Julen Lopetegui is yet to win a trophy as a club manager but the Sevilla boss insists "calm" is the word of the day in the Spanish club's camp...

Lopetegui urges Sevilla to 'dig in'

Sevilla head coach Julen Lopetegui has taken a similar stance to his opposite number Antonio Conte in warning about the quality Inter possess - but hopes his side will be about to "dig in" during tough spells in the game.

Photo: Reuters"We know all about the potential Inter have and the difficulties that lie in store for us. We need to be able to identify with what we do best and we also need to produce our best performance.

"We'll try to maximise our strengths and also be willing to dig in when the going gets tough. We have a solid, united team. We are able to read the game well."

Lethal Lukaku

While Romelu Lukaku had largely failed to hit the heights in the Champions League, the Belgian has gone from strength to strength at Inter, scoring 32 goals in all competitions.

Photo: APThat's six goals in five Europa League games - four more than his strike partner Lautaro Martinez - after he grabbed a superb double against Shakhtar in the semi-finals.

Clearly, the 26-year-old will be heavily marked by Sevilla's centre-backs Diego Carlos and Jules Kounde. But his intelligent runs in behind and pace to back it up will make him a nightmare to keep track of.

If Lukaku is on song tonight, Inter may just be able to celebrate a first European trophy in a decade.

'We must respect Sevilla... not fear them'

Antonio Conte has told his players to respect Sevilla's history in the competition as five-time winners but adds they must adopt a winning mentality if they want to write their names in the history books.

Photo: Getty"I don't use the word fear, I don't want my players to have it in their lockers either. We have a lot of respect for Sevilla because we really rate their experience and history in this competition. "We have to give everything. We have less [Europa League] experience than them, and this gives them an advantage. The important thing is to be mentally free. There is only one way to write the history of a club: to win."

Conte keen to savour the moment amid doubts over future

Inter Milan head coach Antonio Conte says he wants to "savour" the experience of trying to win the Europa League as he dodged questions over his future.

The Italian has publicly questioned the board's support for his team after finishing a point behind Juventus in the Scudetto race, leading many to raise concerns over whether the former Chelsea boss will be there next season.

Photo: GettyBut the 49-year-old is keen to enjoy the final and insists he is only living in the present, not thinking about what lies ahead.

"Over the years I have learnt to take things one day at a time and at this moment in time I am really trying to savour this opportunity," the Italian told a press conference when asked if the final could be his last match as manager.

"I'm well aware that tomorrow is yet to come. Tomorrow I am going to try and experience and savour the final.

"That's what I have learnt to do over the course of my career, to live in the moment, to think about the here and now, and to try and experience it from every angle without any regrets."
