Rihanna could take the plunge in Notting Hill

She may be one of the world’s most famous pop stars but Rihanna embraces London life just like every other commuter.

Whether she is taking the Tube to her 02 gigs or partying in W1, the Rude Boy singer is a big fan of the capital. So much so that she is on the lookout for a home here as she prepares to film a new Sky Living reality show with Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts and fashion designer Henry Holland.

The diva is said to be house hunting in Kensington and Earls Court and her main criteria is cutting-edge security. She also needs plenty of space for her entourage and is thought to be viewing a range of townhouses.

And I may have found her the perfect pad — Seth Stein Architects has created a brilliant new home in Hillgate Village, Notting Hill. The state-of-the-art gem spans four floors and has three bedrooms, a guest suite, two living rooms, a study and basement entertainment area with a gym and plunge pool. What’s the £8.25 million price tag to an A-list chart-topper?

Sly's not profiting from his California sale

Sylvester Stallone is back on the big screen this summer with action-hero fest The Expendables 2. However, when he is not saving the world, the Hollywood hardman dabbles in property — not always profitably.

He has just listed for sale a four-bedroom Spanish-style California mansion he bought less than two years ago for the same price he paid then — $4.5 million (£2.8 million). It’s within the very exclusive Madison Club private golf course and has a magnificent outdoor pool, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen area, plus a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. A Rocky retreat.

Before The Collection was converted into a modern homes development it was the site of the original Saatchi Gallery. The St John’s Wood location provided a launching platform for the Young British Artists. It is where Damien Hirst conceptualised sharks, Tracey Emin dreamt up her beds and Chris Ofili conjured his elephant dung creations.

The gallery has since moved to south-west London but the 15 new homes on the Boundary Road patch have each been named after artists whose work was shown there.

Aston Chase is selling the four-bedroom [Gavin] Turk townhouse for £2.95 million (020 7724 4724, With its own courtyard and decked roof terrace, it would make a spacious family base. And the new owners can nod to the property’s namesake by covering its walls with his prints.
