David Moyes is hoping to secure at least one new signing this week as West Ham push to reinvest the money from the sale of Grady Diangana.

The Hammers currently have offers in for three players - including Burnley's James Tarkowski - as Moyes looks to overhaul his defence before the window closes next month.

Moyes is keen to add some experience in central defence but is also hoping to bring in fresh faces at full-back.

The Hammers have been offered Monaco's Djibril Sidibe on loan but will pursue other targets before turning to the 28-year-old, who spent last season on loan with Everton.

Before adding new faces, the West Ham boss will be hoping the Carabao Cup can again bring some relief from a slow start to the Premier League season.

The Hammers face Hull City in the third round tonight, with the winner facing a trip to either Fleetwood Town or Moyes's former club Everton next week.

"As far this cup tie is concerned, momentum is important," Moyes said in his programme notes for this evening.

"Every time we cross that white line, we aim to be competitive and winning breeds optimism and confidence.

"These cup games are vital because they give an opportunity for players who may not have featured in the early Premier League matches, to show us what they can do in a competitive environment."
