When Lily calls in superwoman

Lily Allen shares a secret with fellow singer La Roux and TV presenter Rav Wilding — they all use professional de-clutterer Vicky Silverthorn to keep their home life under control.

“I call on Vicky when life is too busy. She helps me with all my house moves,” says Lily. Rav confesses: “When Vicky came to my house she sorted out bags of unopened mail — and even found three unbanked cheques. Result!”

Since she set up, Vicky, 32, has also been called in by members of the England rugby team.

Crown & Dolphin pub - 25 April 2012
£434,999: two-bedroom flat in Shadwell.

Find heaps of history on the shelves at the Crown & Dolphin

An east London property with a famous past is for sale. The Crown & Dolphin pub was built in 1850 and sits on the corner of Cable Street and Cannon Street Road in Shadwell.

The area is known for The Battle of Cable Street in 1936 and a mural commemorates the clash between police and anti-fascists at the entrance to the graveyard of St George in the East, a magnificent Nicholas Hawksmoor church just behind the old pub.

ITV crime series Whitechapel recently used the building exterior as the backdrop for some of its scenes but inside the property has been transformed by its architect owner, turning the historic alehouse into an attractive two-bedroom flat, with worktops made from a reclaimed Victorian shop counter and an open log fire among its gems.
