Wanna buy the Empire State Building? Those in a New York state of mind will be stunned by news that the landmark is for sale.

The aim is to raise £653 million from what will be one of the biggest public sales in history.

The 102-storey tower will be grouped with 18 other New York properties into a real estate investment trust, and shares will be sold to the public.

Meanwhile, Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, 32, and her American football star husband Tom Brady are on the hunt for a love nest in the Big Apple — and a £7.5 million flat in the new Walker Tower luxury development, with excellent views of the Empire State Building, has caught their eye.

The power couple already own a 22,000sq ft mansion with a moat in California, but they are reportedly considering a second property in the £6 million to £8 million bracket.
