Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has revealed his delight after sealing his £15 million move to Tottenham and says he cannot wait to play in the club's £1bn stadium.

The 24-year-old has finally put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the north London outfit to become Jose Mourinho's first summer signing.

Spurs right-back Kyle Walker-Peters, who joined the Saints in January on loan, has finalised a permanent switch to St Mary's for £12m.

After weeks of negotiations between the two clubs, Hojbjerg is relieved to have completed his switch and already has his eyes on walking out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first time.

"What was very important for me was that I wanted to play for a club where I could see myself for many years and Tottenham was just the one," he told the club's official website.

"I'm very proud, very happy, very excited. I think there is a fantastic future ahead for the club and I wanted so much to be a part of that.

"If you want to achieve the best things, you need 11 leaders on the pitch and to do that everyone needs to take responsibility for their position, bringing everything they have into the team. I always like to say 'whatever you put in, you get out'.

Hojbjerg added the lure of playing week in, week out at one of the finest stadiums in the world helped make his decision.

"Spurs has fantastic players, a fantastic manager and a fantastic setup," he added.

"One of the first things I said to my wife was that I want to be the first one in that stadium because it is unreal, it is really one of the best, if not the best

"The stadium is something to be proud of and now the training pitch and system, I feel really proud to be part of it and I want to give my everything."
