Adele's 10-bedroom home has two pools and a helipad
With so many gongs to showcase (Grammys, Brits, you name it) Adele will need a big display cabinet in her new home. The 23-year-old superstar from Tottenham is paying a rumoured £15,000 a month to rent a £7 million Sussex mansion with 10 bedrooms, 25 acres of grounds, two swimming pools, a tennis court, helicopter pad and separate cottage for staff.
The property also comes with impressive security features to ensure that the Rolling in the Deep singer enjoys peace and quiet.
Her fairytale base should enhance her love life, too. It is only 30 minutes away from boyfriend Simon Konecki’s home in Brighton. But despite all its splendour, will she manage to cope without her mum, Penny? Last time Adele flew the nest she made a swift return.
Venue that was a winner for Dujardin
Jean Dujardin is hot property. The star of The Artist, the film that swept the board this awards season, is destined for even bigger things after being crowned best actor at Sunday’s Oscars.
I can reveal that the Provençal mas where the 39-year-old wed actress Alexandra Lamy in an elegant 2009 summer ceremony is for sale. It’s easy to see why the 13-bedroom boutique hotel appealed to the couple.
Set in the village of Bagard, the gorgeous countryside retreat is a romantic hotspot. Built by the Knights Templar in the 12th century, it has grand fireplaces, vaulted ceilings and picturesque courtyards and gardens. Savills’ guide price is £1.67 million (020 7016 3740; savills.co.uk). It could be run as a hotel or turned back into a private residence.
Katy Perry sells up after split with Russell Brand
Nothing says it’s over like selling the love nest. Following her split from Russell Brand, Katy Perry is starting afresh and has put the New York penthouse she bought before marrying the British comic actor in 2010 on the market.
The California Girls singer, who completed her divorce papers with a smiley face signature, is moving on. Her two-bedroom Manhattan gem is for sale at £1.7 million.
And the new owners will get plenty of bang for their bucks - including a city skyline view, cherrywood staircase and heated floors. Start spreading the news.
James Martin embarks on Yorkshire property venture
Celebrity chef James Martin is embarking on a peachy property venture. The Saturday Kitchen presenter is working in collaboration with Yorkshire’s Talbot Hotel on a £4 million luxury refurb to restore the building, owned by the Fitzwilliam Estate for 200 years, to its former glory by spring. It will have 26 en suite bedrooms and luxury suites, all set in landscaped gardens.
“The first step is to plan the kitchen so it can cope with 70 for dinner,” he says. “Then design a fashionable restaurant, lounge bar and private function room. I’ll also be sourcing local suppliers and guests can look forward to finding all my favourite Yorkshire produce on the menu.”
James couldn’t resist the chance to return to his roots. “North Yorkshire is in my blood,” he insists. But fans of his recipes needn’t worry, the friendly foodie won’t be neglecting his TV duties.
