Clever Jen trebles the value of her Beverly Hills mansion

Former Friends star and romcom favourite Jennifer Aniston is not only one of America’s leading ladies, she’s proving a savvy property investor, too. The Just Go With It actress has put her impressive Beverly Hills home on the market for $42 million (£26 million).

Called Ohana (that’s “extended family” in Hawaiian), the low-rise property is only moments from Sunset Boulevard and is on an acre of elite Trousdale Estates land, said to have some of the best views in Hollywood.

The 10,000sq ft property has five bedrooms, “seven and a half” bathrooms, a family room, two living rooms, a gym, and accommodation for staff and cars (three vehicles in a garage, the rest in a generous “motor court”). The glamorous dimpled A-lister has even installed an indoor spa, with a specially imported Japanese soaking tub claimed to produce mystical healing effects on tired bodies.

Aniston snapped up the sprawling 1970 property in 2006 for $13.5 million (£8.3 million). She then set to work with high-profile designer Stephen Shadley to renovate it. Five years later, and in a recession, the house has nearly tripled in value. But then, you’re worth it, Jen.

Olly seeks home with the X factor

Notorious mummy’s boy Olly Murs has decided to cut the strings and move out of his parent’s Essex home into a bachelor pad he can call his own. Murs, a Simon Cowell favourite on The X Factor, feels the time has come to live in London. He is said to be looking at apartments in Camden and Shoreditch and is negotiating a mortgage deal.

The Heart On My Sleeve singer doesn’t have much time for house hunting, though. His UK tour starts at the end of next month, with his only London dates at the Hammersmith Apollo from May 24-26, 2011. He is also due to perform at this summer’s V Festival on August 20 and 21.

Now Kate is almost a Londoner

Pregnant American actress Kate Hudson has hinted that she may raise her baby in London, after splashing out on a £4 million home here.

The 31-year-old star of Almost Famous is rumoured to have accepted a wedding proposal from Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, and is set to move into her new north London property once it is renovated. It includes a nursery, games room and guest bedrooms for Kate’s mother, Goldie Hawn, and stepfather Kurt Russell, who visited her in London last month.

Loved-up Hudson and Bellamy are also said to be looking for a holiday home in Cornwall.

Bankrupt Kerry dreams of buying the £3 million house she rents in Surrey

She may have been declared bankrupt two years ago but things are looking up for Kerry Katona. With the help of her management company, the former Dancing On Ice contestant is renting a £3 million home in Oxted, Surrey, and is said to like it so much she wants to buy it as soon as her bankruptcy order is lifted next year.

The six-bedroom home costs a hefty £5,500 a month to rent and comes with an indoor pool, gym, spa, cinema and games room. Little wonder that she and her four children have settled in well since they moved there just over three weeks ago.

Thanks to her reality TV series Come Clean and subsequent magazine deals, she is gradually paying off her debts. There are also rumours that the former Atomic Kitten singer will soon relaunch her music career, no doubt hoping to sell enough downloads to maintain the lifestyle to which she is rapidly becoming reaccustomed.
