Strictly’s Alesha quicksteps around the building site
Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon can’t wait to settle into her new home, but it sounds like the solo star will have to be patient. When we caught up recently, she revealed: “The house I am moving into looks like a building site. It is getting worse before it gets better.”
The MOBO ambassador, (right) who announced that the black music awards will be hosted in Glasgow this year, spends much of her time travelling across the UK and Europe, but it sounds like she loves nothing more than returning to her relaxing Hertfordshire pad.
The Boy Does Nothing singer currently lives in a four-bedroom “oak-themed” detached property with her two dogs. As far as decor is concerned, she pays particular attention to colour schemes.
“I have a pink kitchen and a red bathroom. My front room has quite neutral tones, lovely purples and pinks. It is very feminine. I also have lots of precious stones that I collect scattered around the place,” she says.

Location, Location, Location and Phil Down Under’s Phil Spencer is often seen on TV advising others on which pads to buy, so it’s about time we found out more about his home. “I live in Wandsworth, near the Common,” he tells me.
“The house is old but the décor is fairly contemporary. Most of the original features had been ripped out before I moved in but I’ve retained those that were left. All the colour comes from soft furnishings and art. It is very light with lots of natural wood, stone, glass doors and light wells.”
The Spencer household is very family-focused: “The kitchen is where we spend most time and where the children do their homework. The room I’m proudest of is the basement. It has 15ft walls and enough room for the kids to kick a football around.”
