Canonbury's celebrity status is confirmed as Keira Knightley moves in

A-list star Keira Knightley has splashed out £3.9 million on a five-bedroom house in Canonbury with her husband James Righton.

Canonbury draws in the  A-listers — its residents have included actresses Cate Blanchett and Emma Watson.

And the Islington neighbourhood remains firmly on the celebrity radar as Keira Knightley, pictured with her indie rock star husband James Righton, gets settled in her new home in one of its tree-lined streets.

The London-born film actress, 28, and the Klaxons vocalist, 30, have splashed out £3.9 million on a five-bedroom house after selling their east London home for £3 million. Their new four-storey pad in N1 comes with a gym, wine cellar and generous-size garden.

Knightley will be seen on the big screen in wartime drama The Imitation Game alongside Benedict Cumberbatch later this year. Fancy moving into her neighbourhood? If you’ve got the budget for it, check out this £3.25 million five-bedroom house.
