Queens: Art Deco splendour in Bayswater

The original façade of this former Art-Deco cinema in west London has been cleverly retained to create Queens, a new block of 16 striking apartments.
Sixteen impressive flats have been launched behind the splendid original façade of an Art Deco cinema in Queensway, Bayswater. New architectural elements at the scheme, called Queens, include a “Bauhaus-style” extension clad in glazed terracotta panels.

Shops at street level will improve  an unloved corner, while a reconfigured traffic system will create a new public space at the junction with Westbourne Grove.

“It is a building of exceptional design and quality — a boutique block with the feel of a private members club,” says Richard Bernstone of estate agent Aston Chase. Prices from £895,000 to £3.65 million. Call 020 7724 4724.
