The new phase of Help to Buy is already creating a buzz among the capital’s first-time home hunters. However, the scheme aims to get the whole of the UK housing market moving again by also helping existing home owners to trade up — known as second stepping — to homes priced up to £600,000.

£535,000: Fulwell, near Teddington, TW11
