Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hanks, Bradley Cooper and Oprah Winfrey could all be found at Grosvenor House.
The hotel, in Park Lane, hosted the official party for this year’s awards which attracted its most glittering crowd to date. Hollywood megastars dined on smoked salmon, fine Aberdeen Angus beef and chocolate mousse in the dazzling Great Room.
The drink was in full flow, with 200 magnums of champagne and 1,200 bottles of wine consumed on the night.

Two new royal suites are being designed, so by the time the next Bafta ceremony comes to town it will be a battle for the best room (
