Detectives have launched a CCTV appeal after a woman was raped in east London.

The victim was spoken to by a man outside a supermarket on Tollgate Road, Beckton, just before midnight on December 6, according to police.

He then followed her home and raped her, it is alleged.

The Metropolitan Police have released a picture of a man they wish to speak to. He is aged between 30 and 40 and was wearing black trousers, a black jacket and a navy top.

Detective Constable Joe Herron, investigating, said: “I would like anyone who may recognise this man to please contact us."

Anyone who knows the man pictured or with any relevant information is asked to contact police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 3835/09DEC20.
