The mother of a teenage boy stabbed to death a year ago today has begged witnesses to come forward as his killer remains at large

Mohamed Dura-Ray was just 16-years-old when he was killed during a disturbance involving a large group of people.

Violence broke out on on Monday, September 14 last year in Canterbury Place, Kennington.

Police rushed to the scene and found Mohamed suffering from a single stab wound to the chest.

London's Air Ambulance was scrambled, but Mohamed was pronounced dead at the scene. He died just two weeks before his 17th birthday.

Speaking a year after her son's death, Mohamed's mother Mariama Baby Leigh Kamara said: "I would ask that anybody with any information in relation to my son’s death please come forward and speak to the police."

A £20,000 reward is also still on offer for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the death of Mohamed Dura-Ray.

Detective Chief Inspector Graeme Gwyn, of the Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command, added: "It is now a year since Mohamed was attacked and his family naturally remain devastated by what happened and need to know who was responsible.

"Despite extensive enquiries, I know there remain witnesses who still haven't come forward and spoken to police. We need everyone who was there that night to tell us what they know about the events leading up to Mohamed's murder and also what happened before and afterwards.

"Maybe you weren't there that night but have heard talk since about who might be responsible or what happened. Please come forward and speak in confidence to my officers or anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers."

During the course of the investigation, eight men have been arrested. Seven were bailed pending further enquiries and subsequently released with no further action being taken against them.

Jordan Daley, 20, of Peabody Hill, SE21 was charged with murder on November 11, 2015 with murder. His case was later discontinued.
