The family of a young father stabbed to death in front of terrified children today told of their devastation at his brutal murder.

Kamali Gabbidon-Lynck, 19, from Enfield, died in hospital from multiple knife wounds after being ambushed and chased in a suspected gang clash.

He was surrounded outside a Vue cinema in Wood Green before being pursued by a gang on bicycles armed with a samurai sword, knives and a gun and cornered in a nearby hair salon.

A second man, 20, was shot but survived the attack at 8pm on Friday evening.

Today friends and relatives of Mr Gabbidon-Lynck, who is believed to have had a young daughter, spoke of their loss with one saying: “My whole family has lost a valued member and we are all in so much pain.”

A relative told the Standard: “We are devastated. Kamali was brutally murdered.”

A family friend added: “Yesterday I sat in a house and watched a mum cry over the loss of her son, I had to watch a sister cry over the loss of her brother and to top it all off had to see a baby girl playing, not even knowing someone has taken her dad from her.

“This boy was 19. When will enough be enough?”

Police say the teenager was fatally stabbed inside a hair salon in Vincent Road in an attack witnessed by staff and customers, including children. He was taken to hospital but died later.

Detectives are investigating possible gang links to the murder, which was the 15th in London so far this year.

Today it emerged that in October 2017, Mr Gabbidon-Lynck was sentenced to 32 months in a young offender’s institute after being caught carrying crack cocaine and heroin with an estimated street value of £1,750.

He was arrested and charged with a string of offences after trying to flee police in Bognor Regis, Sussex.

Detectives have urged people to come forward with infomation amid widespread speculation on social media that the killing was linked to an ongoing gang feud in Wood Green.

No arrests have been made.

DCI Goodwin said: “There are a number of lines of enquiry ongoing as to which premises in this area the victims or suspects may have entered during the relevant time, though we believe the 19-year-old was fatally attacked in a hair salon on Vincent Road. This would have been witnessed by several people, including children.”

She appealed for witnesses to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Witnesses can also share any images and footage anonymously on ukpoliceimageappeal.com
