A date has finally been set for the inquest into the stabbing death of a 15-year-old girl, more than six years after she died.
Solicitors for the family of Arsema Dawit say the hearing has been listed for September 1 2014, and is due to last for four weeks.
Arsema was stabbed more than 30 times in Waterloo, central London, by ex-boyfriend Thomas Nugusse in June 2008.
She had complained to police that Nugusse had threatened to kill her, though Arsema's mother, Tsehaynesh Medihani, from Clapham in south-west London, said her daughter's fears were "ignored" by the police.
In the weeks prior to Arsema's death, Nugusse was said to have become "increasingly obsessed" with her and behaved in a way which was "jealous and controlling".
Having stabbed her to death, he handed himself into police.
Nugusse confessed to Arsema's murder but could not be tried because he suffered brain damage in a suicide attempt in prison.
In 2009 an Old Bailey jury was not permitted to return conventional innocent or guilty verdicts and instead found that Nugusse had "committed the acts".
The inquest will be held at Southwark Coroners Court and will be heard before coroner Dr Andrew Harris.
