Death Stranding has been released on PC, but many people who still use Windows 7 are unable to play the game.

The Reddit and official Steam page are flooded with complaints, with negative reviews lamenting the lack of support for the older operating system.

While many of the reviews on Steam are positive, there seems to be a huge problem with people who are using an earlier operating system (OS) of Windows 7.

Currently, Death Stranding has zero support for Windows 7 and will only function properly on Windows 10 or higher because of how the game is made.

This means that the people who don't want to update their old version of Windows 7 are unable to play Death Stranding.

One person on Steam has asked 505 Games to add Windows 7 support for the game, seemingly unwilling to update their operating system.

A substantial number of gamers and other people favour the older Windows 7 OS because of the many changes Windows went through in future updates.

Things like redesigning the Start button layout and even privacy concerns have been expressed with newer updates. There have also been a number of additions which are seen as obtrusive and downright annoying in Windows 10.

People don't like having these additions and features forced upon them like having to make a Microsoft account to log in. The Cortana voice assistant is another example of a feature many consider obtrusive which has since been added to Windows.

Windows' own browser, Microsoft Edge, is often considered the most pointless web browser of all time. In fact, a recent update to Windows, it actually forced the browser on people, making it unremovable from your computer whereas before you could remove it entirely.

Even people who have Windows 10 are running into errors which force infinite loading screens or outright crashes and so on.

It has to be said that the current version of Windows is actually decent. Compared to Windows 7, at least, which is now 11 years old.

505 Games might consider pushing out a patch for Windows 7 support, but at the moment it seems likely people will be forced to update their OS.

Death Stranding is also available on PS4 if you're really against updating your PC.
