A man has been charged with the murder of a 61-year-old woman in north-west London.

Officers were called to a report of a disturbance at an address in Waverley Avenue, Chingford, at 11.35pm on Wednesday.

A woman was found at the scene suffering from head injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Friday, Mitchell Denahy, 24, was charged with murdering 61-year-old Beverley Denahy.

Mitchell was detained at the scene and remains in police custody.

He will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
