The poet and literary critic TS Eliot (1888-1965) was warden of splendid St Stephen's Church in South Kensington for 25 years.

The connection has not been lost on developer Henley Space, which has launched The Arts House opposite the listed church where Eliot sought divine inspiration.

Eleven elegant apartments have been carved from a former mansion facing on to pretty Southwell Gardens.

Royal College of Art students have been commissioned to design the building's refurbished foyer, while an adjacent townhouse has also been created.

Prices start from £1,895,000. Call Chestertons (020 3189 1613).
