Ashley Cole and Cheryl's former marital home reduced by half a million pounds:Surrey mansion comes with golf course, private helipad and five-a-side football pitch

The asking price of the sprawling Surrey mansion once shared by Ashley Cole and Cheryl has been dropped to £6.99 million...

Footballer Ashley Cole is so keen to shift the home he shared with ex-wife Cheryl that he has reduced the asking price by £510,000.

The Stepney-born former Chelsea, England and Roma player, now with LA Galaxy, listed the eight-bedroom Surrey pile for £7.5 million earlier this year but it failed to sell. He has now returned it to the market with Savills at £6.99 million.

The sprawling estate has state-of-the-art sporting facilities, including a five-a-side football pitch, a two-hole golf course and a tennis court.

Luxury spa facilities inside include a swimming pool and sauna.

A helipad plus a cinema and snooker hall are thrown in for good measure.

Cole and Cheryl, whose four-year marriage ended in 2010, bought the house for £3 million but the pop singer cut her ties last year.

Cole, 35, now back in the US, became a father for  the first time in February, when his Italian model girlfriend Sharon Canu gave birth to their son in Rome.

Hurtmore house: the sunken seating area with central fireplace in the kitchen mirrors the design of the leisure complex

Hurtmore House, the former couple's palatial eight-bedroom mansion, has undergone extensive refurbishment since it was purchased by Cole and his now ex-wife Cheryl Fernandez-Versini in 2007 from IT entrepreneur David Gilbert for £3.55 million, paying £50,000 more than the asking price.

Further renovations by the former couple include the addition of a pool and leisure complex with the snooker room, which also doubles up as extra space for entertaining, a sunken seating area with central fireplace that mirrors the design in the kitchen of the main house, a cocktail bar area and an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
