Top of the league:the leafy north London village attracting Premier League footballers

Home to many celebrities and sports stars, affluent Highgate's residents include Arsenal midfielder Mesut Özil and striker teammate, Olivier Giroud.

The north London village of Highgate makes the perfect location for Premier League footballers, as it is only a short limo ride from the Emirates Stadium in Holloway.

As the club attracts more star players, Highgate’s glamorous homes are increasingly being sold to footballers and their wives.

Former Arsenal winger and model Freddie Ljungberg — who is thought to be returning to the club as the Under-15s coach — and his wife, Natalie Foster are said to be looking in the area.

They could well be interested in Hurstbourne in Bishopswood Road, the latest home on the market.

The Victorian mansion has been restored by luxury developer Atelier, retaining its red-brick façade.  It costs a cool £14 million.
