A Buckinghamshire home once owned by Star Wars producer Gary Kurtz is for sale.

The Hollywood heavyweight behind the original Star Wars film in 1977 threw decadent parties for celebrity friends and colleagues including Harrison Ford, in the 20-acre grounds, and made the most of the large swimming pool.

Conveniently close to Pinewood Studios, Pednor Chase has seven bedrooms, a gym, tennis court and stable block.

Built in 1910 by the Knollys family, its royal past was an alluring quality for Kurtz.

Viscount Knollys was a private secretary to King Edward VII. His sister Charlotte was private secretary to Princess Alexandra, who visited regularly. Apparently, the striking rhododendron drive was planted in acknowledgement of her love of the trees.

These days the home belongs to a couple called Geoff and Joy Taylor. Despite their love of the grand space, they are looking to downsize somewhere nearby.

They have listed it for £3.5 million through LREA.
