Things take a turn for the worse in George Clooney’s new Nespresso advert. The Money Monster actor is kidnapped, taken to a stately home in the middle of the night and given a “dressing down” by Pirates of the Caribbean actor Ian McShane.

The property used for the ad and now available to rent is Hedsor House, a beautiful country home in Buckinghamshire’s Thames Valley, 45 minutes west of London.

Clooney was dragged down its staircase and taken to the library. During filming the Bridal Suite also doubled as the star’s hideaway with wife Amal.

The 11-bedroom stately home has an illustrious history. It was originally designed by Sir William Chambers, architect of Somerset House, with the help of King George III and Queen Charlotte. They were captivated by Hedsor’s picturesque position high above the Thames.

Following decades as the seat of the Shephard family, the beautiful Georgian pile (pictures below) underwent an extensive project in 2007 and now opens its doors to acting royalty.

Brad Pitt, Nicole Kidman, Dustin Hoffman, Tom Hardy, Maggie Smith and the cast of Mr Selfridge have all filmed there in recent years. Celebrity DJ Mark Ronson also held his birthday party there.
