Kevin McCloud's Grand Designs:RIBA award-winning "cabinet of curiosities" Kew House for sale for £3.8m

Familiar to Grand Designs' viewers, Kew House is 4,000sq ft of space in two wings clad in weathered steel sitting behind a Victorian stable façade.

Grand Designs viewers will recognise Kew House in south-west London. It featured in the House of the Year spin-off series last year in which presenter Kevin McCloud called the four-bedroom home “a cabinet of curiosities.”

The RIBA award-winning house sits behind a Victorian stable façade, with 4,000sq ft of space in two wings.

Renowned architect Stuart Piercy designed the house with steeply-pitched twin-peak roofs clad with rusting Corten steel and joined a dramatic glass central section. A staircase runs up inside the glass middle.

The award-winning home was converted from seven garages in south-west London's Kew Green Conservation area. (Jack Hobhouse)

Within easy walking distance of Kew Bridge and Kew Gardens stations, it’s for sale at £3.8million with The Modern House.
