Mid-century charm: Hilary Duff's LA home is a Pinterest interiors dream with vintage stair runner, pendant lights and monochrome-tiled kitchen

With a millennial pink front door, graphic patterned monochrome tiles and retro velvet armchairs, actress Hilary Duff's Los Angeles home ticks a lot of Pinterest trend boxes.

Metallics were one of the top Pinterest trends of 2017, with searches for 'gold kitchen accessories' increasing 235 per cent towards the end of last year.

Duff's brass-handled kitchen cabinets and shelving units couldn't be more on-trend, while the bold monochrome tiles and bright blue cabinets add an individual touch. The look is repeated in the envy-inducing outdoor kitchen for entertaining, inspired by the Californian sunshine.

The TV star, 30, certainly isn't afraid of colour.

Blue glass globes on the chandelier above the dining table echo the crystal blues of the swimming pool outside, while the powder pink front door is the colour of vintage Los Angeles.

The kaleidoscopic butterfly painting by Damien Hirst, hung behind the sofa in the living room adds another burst of brights.

Duff also seems to be a fan of vintage styling with several retro touches that keen Pinners would love.

The living room has a Great Gatsby Art Deco feel with luxurious coral velvet cocktail chairs, a curved grey sofa, cylindrical brass coffee tables and retro pendant ceiling lights.

A particularly unusual creative touch can be found on the stairs where three vintage Turkish rugs were sewn together to make a quirky stair runner.

The large round mirror in the entry hall creates the illusion of more space.

Duff mixes eras and styles with a floral William Morris wallpaper used behind the wooden four poster bed.
