For rent: the first Mayfair home of tech-obsessed racing driver Sir Stirling Moss OBE

The recently refurbished Shepherd Market townhouse is listed at £4,000 a week.

Long before electronic boys’ toys became fashionable, the former Formula One ace Sir Stirling Moss OBE packed the townhouse in Shepherd Market with time-saving gadgetry and a wealth of audiovisual gizmos.

The cute and characterful home has three bedrooms, a cinema, two private terraces and a walled garden.

Moss, 86, bought the place in 1954 as his sporting career blossomed, for just £12,000.

He fell in love with the area and still lives nearby in another hi-tech home which he built on a derelict plot he bought in 1961.

The Shepherd Market townhouse, recently refurbished, is on Pastor Real Estate’s books for £4,000 a week.
