One lucky buyer could get the chance to live like British sitcom royalty - for a reduced price of £2.65 million.

British actor and comedian Rowan Atkinson has put The Old Rectory up for sale, for £250,000 less than when he first listed it a year ago.

Dating from 1777, the grade II-listed, five-bedroom country pile in the village of Waterperry, seven miles from Oxford, has been extended and modernised over the years.

A contemporary extension links the original Georgian village house to a stunning swimming pool complex and gym.

Outside, a bike store and original Victorian greenhouse await - not to mention the four-bay garage that provided plenty of room for car enthusiast Atkinson to house his collection of supercars.

A tennis court, pony paddock and landscaped gardens lie to the rear of the house.

It seems the Rat Race and Johnny English star is looking for a quick sale, perhaps in a bid to downsize his property portfolio after divorcing from Sunetra, his wife of 24 years, in November last year.
