London can’t get enough of food courts, and now Theatreland is set to get its fill.

Street food master Kerb is set to open Seven Dials Market this weekend, a massive new indoor arcadia located at the very heart of London’s West End.

Kerb has spent the last few months drip-feeding Londoners with tantalising details about the treats the site is set to offer, but the Standard can now reveal a first look at the full line-up of food traders trading at the highly anticipated foodie hub.

From bars to bao buns via a cheese conveyor belt and an electric pink elevator, this is everything you need to know about Kerb’s Seven Dials Market.

What is Seven Dials Market?

Seven Dials Market is a new food court run by street food connoisseur Kerb, which currently counts another five outdoor markets around the capital. Not only is the Seven Dials spot Kerb’s first indoor venture, but it is also its largest, its first permanent home and its inaugural foray into the West End.

A total of 25 food and drink vendors will be showcasing their wares at the central London market, with the space divided into two areas: Cucumber Lane will focus on London-based produce, featuring the likes of Karaway bakery and charcuterie expert Crown & Queue, while Banana Warehouse will host street food traders and new restaurants.

Diners can tuck in at pink Italian terrazzo marble counters while sat on orange leather stools. An electric pink elevator is a novel way to move between the market’s multiple floors.

Where is it and when is it open?

Seven Dials Market is on Earlham Street (WC2H 9LX). It has moved into the Thomas Neal Warehouse – a 24,000 square foot space that originally served as a storage space for bananas and cucumbers in the 19th century.

The market opens its doors to the public on September 7. From then, it will be open seven days a week, with traders serving 11am to 11pm from Monday to Saturday, and from noon until 10.30pm on a Sunday.

What else is at Seven Dials Market?

There’s more to Seven Dials Market than food. For the market’s bar, Kerb has teamed up with both East London Liquor Company and Gipsy Hill Brewing Company, who will serve collaborative cocktails and even an exclusive beer, Kerb Lager, which the latter has brewed exclusively for the market. Hackney-based soft drink company Square Root Soda will also run an alcohol-free bar called the Soda Stage.

More surprisingly, the market will also be home to its own bookshop. Run in partnership with travel bookshop Stanfords, the shop will stock more than 400 food and drink-focused books and will transform at night into a private event space.

Seven Dials Market opens at Earlham Street, WC2H 9LX on September 7. For more information, visit kerbfood.com.
