Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made their first appearance since announcing they’re expecting their second child and permanently stepping down as working members of the Royal Family.
Speaking as part of the Spotify Stream On event, the pair appeared via video link to discuss Archewell Audio, which they launched last year on the platform, and their hopes and plans for the podcast’s future. You can listen to their debut podcast here, which dropped in late December.
For the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex wore a spring-like, citrus Oscar de la Renta dress and loose curly waves, indicating a more relaxed maternity style this time round. For the their pregnancy announcement, Meghan was photographed by Evening Standard judge Misan Harriman in a loose, floaty bespoke dress by Carolina Herrera in the grounds of the couple’s Californian home.
Speaking in the Spotify clip, Meghan said: “We created Archewell Audio to make sure we can elevate voices that maybe aren’t being heard, and hear people’s stories.”
Last week the couple confirmed, after a 12-month review, that they would not resume their roles within the Royal Family. A statement issued on behalf of the couple said: “As evidenced by their work over the past year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain committed to their duty and service to the UK and around the world, and have offered their continued support to organisations they have represented regardless of official role. We can all live a life of service. Service is universal.”
The pair will appear in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey on March 7.
