Stabbed boy's father: I love you... my heart is bleeding

Victim: Yemurai Kanyangarara was killed in feud

The father of a teenage boy stabbed to death in the street told today of the pain of his son's death.

Yemurai Kanyangarara was attacked seconds after getting off a bus in Welling on Friday in what police say was a feud between individuals from two schools.

The 16-year-old was stabbed in the neck and detectives described the murder as one of the most brutal they had seen in 25 years.

Police said that the "gentle" and "polite" victim, who had taken his GCSEs two weeks earlier, was targeted by a group of youths in revenge for a "disagreement" days earlier.

Yemurai's father Kelton - who fled Zimbabwe for a better life in Britain - left a message on his Facebook page that read: "My boy is gone it is so painful - my heart is bleeding. RIP my boy I will always love you."

Detectives said they were hunting three pupils from a neighbouring school in relation to the attack.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Dunne said: "There are three very scared teenagers running around London trying to evade police and I would appeal to them to come and speak to me now because I am confident that I will have the details of these youths very soon."

A 16-year-old schoolfriend of Yemurai, who was a pupil at St Columba's Catholic Boys' School in Bexleyheath, said: "It was an ambush. It is not just like they bumped into him. It must have been planned."
