Crossrail has thrown the spotlight on Reading.

The Thames Valley capital is home to the headquarters of several top 50 global companies, with IT and finance firms clustered in green business campuses on the periphery that are a model for the coronavirus-era workplace.

One of these is 195-acre Green Park estate, with 19 office buildings, a central lake and wildlife habitat.

Bordering this is Green Park Village, where 737 homes and a new train station are being built.

The first phase comprises 461 apartments in seven waterside "pavilions" also overlooking parkland.

The flats have wraparound balconies and there are podium gardens, a gym, concierge and a co-working studio for home workers.

The wider development will have shops, cafés, a market square, a primary school and a crèche.

Prices from £292,000. Call St Edward on 01183 214791.
