Cahoots bar to launch ‘Allo ‘Allo themed immersive dining experience

Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once: next month, 40s-themed Soho bar Cahoots will launch an immersive dining experience inspired by the wartime-set sitcom ‘Allo ‘Allo.

The cocktail bar, which reopens today, will play host to the pop-up dinner event from October 7, which will see actors take on the roles of René and Edith Artois, Herr Flick and Officer Crabtree and more from the much-loved British 80s sitcom.

Set inside the speakeasy-style bar, which is modelled on an underground station-turned-air raid bunker, diners will tuck into a classic French cafe-style dinner of onion soup, coq au vin and fresh berry mille-feuille, while a familiar storyline gets underway around them.

French cafe owner René Artois (played by Gordon Kaye in the BBC original) will let diners in on a little secret: he has agreed to hide the priceless painting “The Fallen Madonna (With The Big Boobies)” in the venue’s Control Room bar from the Nazis, but Herr Otto Flick of the Gestapo is thought to be on his way to visit the premises.

Meanwhile, Michelle of the French Resistance needs René’s help in hiding stranded British airmen Fairfax and Carstairs in the bar as well. British policeman Officer Crabtree will also be on hand to help René, and wish guests “good moaning”.

The Cahoots Scoundrels bartenders will also be serving up the bars signature cocktails throughout the right, with concoctions including the Vera Lynn, Judy Garland and The Churchill.

Tickets start from £60 – including the three-course meal and entertainment – and are available to book online now.
