South Quay Plaza's sky-high extensions: extra bedrooms added to luxury Canary Wharf flats as post-lockdown buyers seek more space

Moments from Canary Wharf, at South Quay Plaza, Berkeley Homes has responded to buyer preference for more versatile space as we emerge from coronavirus lockdown.

Instead of two-bedroom homes at the two dockside skyscrapers, which have been built at a 45-degree rotation to maximise views, the developer has joined some units into three-bedroom flats of up to 1,678sq ft.

"Lockdown has emphasised the need for more space, whether the versatility of an extra bedroom or the desirability of a vast entertaining space," says Berkeley's operations director Sean Gavin.

Designed by Foster + Partners, the towers offer 888 homes, residents sky club and bar, gym and pool, screening room and outdoor dining terraces, with over two-and-a-half acres of ground-level waterfront public space.

The reconfigured homes have floor-to-ceiling glazing and occupy the 58th and 59th floors of Valiant Tower, immediately above the Quay Club.

Prices from £2,135,000. Other flats from £888,000. Call 020 3813 7319.
