In Lambeth is a famous wild garden, with soaring roses and a summer meadow just in flower, welcoming allcomers free — with a complimentary drink and cake. Learn how to grow salad, meet the famous “guerrilla gardeners”, and browse stalls selling garden goods and plants.

This fair started last year. “We now have 76 dealers,” says organiser, Anna Haughton. “People love our romantic location in Kensington Gardens.” The fair includes the respected International Ceramic Fair and Seminar. Admission: £15 on the door.

“Every museum I’ve visited has a huge collection of blue porcelain,” says gallery owner/curator Yvonna Demczynska, who set up Flow Gallery 12 years ago. This has inspired her current show, Blue, featuring 17 artists working in blue ceramics and indigo-dyed textiles.

Wander through London’s usually secret green spaces — there are 210 gardens open over the weekend, including 117 private ones, with 31 taking part for the first time. One ticket admits you to all of the properties over the weekend.

Two Linen Press warehouse sales: the first at All Hallows Church Hall, Erncroft Way, Twickenham, on June 4 and the second on July 2 at St Michael & All Angels, 1 Pond Road, Blackheath, SE3.

Both sales run from 10am to 3pm. Bargains include double Puppytooth duvet covers reduced from £78 to £45; Irish linen sheets from £154 to £94 and linen-trimmed Egyptian cotton towels half price at £18.
