For many people dealing with art dealers and high prices can be off-putting when choosing new artwork for the home. The Other Art Fair eliminates the middleman and gives buyers the chance to explore work by unrepresented talent and negotiate prices directly with the artists.
The fair was first launched last November by Ryan Stanier after setting up successful pop-up galleries in Covent Garden. “It seemed nonsensical that, as a city, we were producing some of the most exciting creative minds, and yet it was becoming more and more difficult for them to gain recognition,” he says. It has since become the UK’s leading artist-led fair featuring affordable pieces with prices starting at around £40.
The weekend-long event showcases 90 of the UK’s best unrepresented artists and photographers, as well as featuring live fine art performance, curated walks to acoustic music performances, cocktail masterclasses and The Breakfast Club will be running a pop-up bar and restaurant.
